Thanks for the advice re the paint, I thought the heat might peel the paint off but as it happens I do have some Humbrol enamel here. Re the whistle, yeah I have tried it after the boilers used up a lot of the water but it still tends to hiss rather than whistle.  _________________ Les |

I have found that by tweaking the angle of the whistle lever I can in fact get my whistle to whistle. Full on is past the point of whistle and all it really needs is closing a bit more.  _________________ Les |
