We shall be operating the pool on the Sunday for the "Day at the Seaside" steam day. As this will be really for sailing boats (Star Yachts etc) it struck me as a good idea to play steamers on the Saturday. I intend to fit the pool out with a couple of stripes for a measured 30 feet and do some speed trials of Bowman and Hobbies launches. If time and opportunity permits we might stretch to a few Mamod powered boats also but there is always next year. See how it goes. So far I have the four prewar Bowmen, two or three post war Bowmen and a couple of Hobbies signed up. Could be interesting.
All results will be published.
See you there?
Mr Bowman's Birthday will be celebrated at the usual time in November. Watch out for the official notice.

Mike, give my love to the Sphinx, I shall never forget her!
Jim, It's not so much an event, more an opportunity to play with the pool and set a few benchmarks for boat speeds. The general public will be around but not in force. It will be much busier on the Sunday, we steam the beam engine and have all sorts of happenings but the pool will be basically sailers as per seaside visits of thirty years ago.
