Eveening all, just got back from a long weekend down in West Cornwall, nothing to do with steam. Jenny, my wife, dances with "Carn Kie Cloggers" a clog morris side and I am their drummer. It is the sides 30th birthday this year and we have had a weekend long party with some other morris teams. The weekend culminated with us all up on St Michaels Mount.

Great shot John, it s not widely know but I am a fairly well versed Irish and English country dancer. My ex-partner called for various ceilidh bands so I always ended up going . . . A great way of keeping fit - try 'stripping the willow'! I still have a few friends who are part of plymouth Morrismen and a friend who danced with the Plymouth Maids (clog dancers too) - ohh the noise!!! _________________

Evening John - hope you're enjoying all the special treats!
Weather looked nice - at least the dancers are casting shadows. I thought Lady Morris dancers were termed 'Maids of Morris' - is that right? _________________ Stephen

Hi Stephen, some great stuff on here. I'll be having a better look in the morning as I must confess to being absolutely shattered at the moment, so I'm going to hit the sack.
A lot of the Ladies Morris sides do indeed use that term, when we lived in Nottingham Jenny danced with the "Maids of Clifton".
Wheather today has been mixed, brilliant sunshine puntuated by black clouds - no rain though. _________________ www.steamtoys.co.uk

Fantastic John, I have loved my visits to St Michaels Mount during the past few years whilst holidaying in St Ives. _________________ Regards, Jon.
