Just rang a lady about exhibiting at a show, and was told if I wish to steam my engines I am not allowed to exhibit as there is a risk I may set the table-cloth on my table alight!!! Perfectly understandable so asked if i could have a table without a table-cloth, no because it would make the exhibition hall un-uniform! When asked are all your tables and table cloths the same the answer was no!!! I Gave up in the end, they ask around for as much live steam as possible and when you offer it them they say no because of the fire risk!!
Suffice to say I wont be at this show! I will spare the venue the imbarresment and there self contridiction by not publicising there name!

Brickworks Museum in Southampton.. The funniest thing is on each open day they have about 4 or 5 full size engines just outside the hall! _________________ "There once was a man from Bombay, who took a slow boat to China one day. Indeed, They ask for live steam exhibitors but what they are really asking for are minature traction engines!! _________________ "There once was a man from Bombay, who took a slow boat to China one day. A sex starved gorilla tied him to the tiller and China's a bloody long way..."

No where you've coming from, but it is going to get worse some of my fellow steam club members were saying at our last meeting the restrictions some of the shows are putting in place they are not going to bother going. _________________
