Well I revisited this project today and reworked a few issues on the engine. A cracked pinion wasn't helping (damn plastic type). I have set up a new gear transmission on it which seems better, just steamed the engine and apart from a leaking SV hampering performance it went well. Pics and a couple of vids soon - a qualified success. _________________

The culprit to the sticking drive...
New gear in position...

There is an SP5 in here...
I hate this stuff...
New gears (black) in position...
For those that dont know, I fitted a Meccano sprocket to the engine, its a tight squeeze and the Meccano sprocket was filed down a little on the brass bush, but it fits...
