I've been reading about this restoration job, after it was posted on a  forum
a few months ago.
Not toy steam exactly, but fascinating stuff.

Funny lot these museum restorers. Anyone else would have taken it around to their local watch repairers who spend their time removing gunged up lubrication from intricate and tiny mechanisms. Ten minutes in the ultrasonic bath.....Job Done!
But no, a six month saga of soaking and paintbrushing under a microscope. Talk about labour intensive.
