Looks good Mike! By moving the large gear that is opposite the cylinder, that would leave more space for the flywheel. If you wanted, you could send it down here and I could machine the rim down for you. The other thing to save a bit of space is to machine some of the hub down from the gears, again that offers there _________________ Happy 30th Birthday Mamod Railway Company!

Thanks Jim! One option Im thining of is to use an SW1 flywheel which is thinner, the main option would be to use a wider hull base, say by 10mm. That would give me plenty of room then. _________________

Don't you want to keep the sleek lines of a fast launch? Placing the flywheel in the middle would also help balance the boat in the water, not to a great extent but, every little helps
Personally I would just go with a thinner flywheel as it would be easier to use a differnt flywheel or have a machined down one than altering the plans and dimensions of the hull _________________ Happy 30th Birthday Mamod Railway Company!

Mounting the flywheel centrally would help, but the space on the crankshaft is limited. Of course I could use one shaft and then split it into 2 using 3 pinions... _________________

Another idea... in order to get better spacing on the crankshaft use the same set up but becasue I will turn the contrates so the both have the teeth facing towards the centre they will then turn their respective pinions and hence props in different directions, soooo, use a LH and RH prop to counter act this! Follow me? No? it's getting a bit complicated and all because I need more width!
