One of Mamods best recent efforts... well worth the effort in refurbishing. This version is vastly superior to the 'new' SP5. I sold mine (to Jim) last year, Im no fan of the new ones at all, this one though was a properly designed and thought out Malins engine. Onyl 10,000 or so made untial 1985.

Coming on nicely - what are your plans for the rusty chrome? At least the chimney's easily obtained still!

Shame about the firebox sides, maybe wait for a beater to come up on ebay? thing is the SP2 and Sp4 use the same side panels so they are more common. Rechroming may be expensive too. Will that p;aint to up to the heat? These engines do get very hot since the fuel tablets are totally enclosed.
