Apart from renewing washers and checking the steam valve the only attention it had was a little oil. It was the first steaming, but I had turned it over once before I started the camera.
It does seem to be entirely original, so I will not be doing anything not cosmetic.
Any thoughts on that?

According to Mamod's own figures they made over 70000 SE3's
So you could do anything you want to it Alan as they are not a rare steam engine
You could use it as a workhorse and just oil it, or perhaps a full restoration is in order
I have seen a few good SE3 mods so lots of options what ever you do Alan please be sure to take lots of photos _________________ Mike
