This was my first visit to the NRM this millennium! I used to go quite often in the 1990s...
I make no apology for the number of images here, I was simply like a kid in a sweet shop yesterday, I hope members will forgive me for the number of images or the size. I have tried to get a good cross section of the types and the different companies on show. I spent all in all about 3 hours there, I clould have stayed longer but we had to have a shop (other half) and I needed a pint and some lunch too as well as a mooch around York too. Well worth a 700 mile round trip!
ANyway a few images! I have divided them into the big four railway companies as well as diesel/steam. _________________

The 1906 Dynamometer car is fascinating...
Looks like an Edwardian door to a front palour, rather than a state of the art scientific measuring 'office'...

More SR...
The canted in cab shows the very restricted loading gauge on the SR...
SWC was refreshingly unrestored and lloked to be in the condition it was in when it left service in 1965...
