I haven't bought a mobile in ages!
The mazak wheeled SR1a was my fist engine back in 1973. _________________

Here's a better shot of the SR1a with a straight lever...
I haven't seen too many of this one about. _________________

This was the mobile I always wanted as a kid - the big SW1. When you are 10 these were the best, the biggest and baddest steam toy to covet!
Alas I did not get one until 1988 - the blue one, purchased in Exeter at an old fashioned model shop - the type where the Airifx kits are piled up 7 feet high. No doubt the H&S Police would spoil that now.
The green one was purchased from a friend on ebay who had a lot of old stock from the sale of the Thorns Road works back in the 1980s... _________________

I see now that a company is offering the distinctive SW1 rear wheel pattern as a front wheel. Anyone tried them> _________________

Next up i have my SA1. this is an early version with artillery wheels (SE3 flywheels actually!). This is an odd one as it has both pop rivet and screw construction. See the images and look at the fenders/running boards are attached with bolts. i bough it from an engineer in Jersey - I can be sure if the car has been apart, but it seems to have no tel tale marks from screw drivers or small spanners...
Designed by Steve Malins, it just say "Steam me!"
Close up of the fixings!

Here we have the Mamod stationaries...
Front to back: MM1s 1975/1949, Middle row SE1a 1978, SE1s 1967 and 1954, back row SE3 G&G, 1946 SE1 and 1970 SE3 (screw crank type)
I have some other which are attched to big wooden baseboards running full Mamod workshops - I didn't picture these! _________________

Yep - got a pair from Chas. The casting wasn't perfect and maybe I should have returned them, but they look good and I'm not a 'nit-picker'! Unfortunately I've no photo available at the moment - I'll sort one out soon. _________________ Stephen
