I have been continuing to day with small finishing touches. Im still to apply the name decal and a final all over coat of clear varnish to the hull. Here are some images taken in the sun this evening...
Some overall shots of the vessel
The Hobbies brass prop is a real luxury touch, they look simply gorgeous, plastic was not an option.
I have sorted the 'portholes' on the engine house, I have had to epoxy these in with their retaining rings, the housing was already bent to shape so I would not be able to sort the fixing using the usual punch and hammer way.
More brass can be found at the bow...
Complete with spray hood retaining strip...
I have inlaid this into the mahogany with the use of a little chisel work.
I make no apologies for the amount of brass in this model, Arrow-3 will have a bit more as well.
Chimney now sits properly over the exhaust pipe from the Mamod ME3 engine, the spray hood, engine house cover and rear deck sit snugly together with little room for movement.
Frontal details...

You have to be happy with that result Mike.
looks very nice with the sun reflecting off all the brass work.
I have to agree with you, the brass prop looks right. |
