some of you from the other forum would have see it but for those who havent, here they are.
i have 49 pics of my oo guage layout. its based on the transition era from steam to diesel.
there are 2 thing i would not have done if i had made it again.
firstly, i wouldnt have used any set curves. i have 1st and 2nd radius curves on here, and the deltic doesnt like them, neither does the ivatt. it just looks wrong and un-realistic.
secondly, i would have used the long points instead of the shorter ones. it looks much better when coaches are going over them, rather than quickly darting from one track to another.
here are some pics anyway:
its 16ft long, 20 inc the fiddle yard at this end
the canal and bridge to the fiddle yard
coal boat, stearsman and a cyclist on the tow path
the bridge again with the signal
a swan cruises the bottom of the lock
the small station
clean jinty, i need to weather it heavily as BR just left them dirty
class 20 outside the ground level signal box, with full interior
the signal box
the interior
reversed
collett goods about to set out
showing the tender and inside of the cab
goods shed near the station
almost ready to load
from just above the goods shed, shows the rest of the layout
a nice BR goods van on the country road to the goods shed. the owner minds his horses
a closer view
a country walker just about to cross the stiel, on the country road
a view of the allotments which back off of the terrace houses
someone restoring a traction engine on his plot
hanging the washing out to dry, the man of the house takes a load to the shed - anderson shelter
view from the front
where the cars park at the front of the allotments
just over from them, is the town station. an ivatt class 4 is about to depart, and a class 25 has just pulled in
the terrace houses and tetleys warehouse
the town station
the goods yard and tetleys warehouse
someone who fred dibnah would have looked up to, literally
the small timber yard
the goods which the class 25 brought in
some pasangers on the station
the back of the coach - i really like that, the lamp completes it
super detailed coaches. no smoking and first class in the window
ivatt standard class 4 outside the signal box
showing the complex valve gear
window cleaner on the signal box
car park outside the staion and a tea van near the signal box
another view of the goods yard
class 55 deltic awaits a use
the coal yard behind the goods yard. NCB lorry is bringing some sacks of coal.
the main street with shops and garage
the garage from the front with a car re-fueling
BR lorry takes some cable away, whilst the coach to skegness passes through
workman "spending a penny"
the model shop, chip shop, army store, butchers and pub
closer look at the pub with sandwich board outside
another country road, leading from the coal yard, over the railway into the country
the terrace houses from the front

That is absolutly lovely Rob, infact its the best I've seen
So much detail from the swan on the canal to (I presume Fred Dibna) on the chimmney
Very very nice
Dont take this the wrong way Rob but you need a better camera
As then the photos would be perfect aswell _________________ Mike

Thanks for sharing those Rob. I like the bike in the canal, reminds me of the time when I took a boat up the Aston flight in Brum, the water was very low and we were virtually emptying the pounds above just to fill the locks - you can imagine the stuff that was 'emerging' from beneath the waters!!! _________________ Stephen
