Thanks for the comments. I kind of figured people may like them. Getting a No2 is on my want list for 2009, but so are a few more toy steam mobiles.
There's a Mamod DV2 coming up on e*** in the next couple of days that I may have a go at. After that it's keeping my eyes open for some of the older German stuff.
I plan this year (I say this every year) is to only add a couple of steam engines to the collection and to go for older, quality buys, rather than more copies of stuff I already have. _________________ Manx, the Mobile Man |

Marklin produced some very similar car kits and a couple of very splendid lorries 36cm long with clockwork motors. The one I like is the armoured car complete with turret. Almost enough to lure me away from steam but fortunately the guide prices resemble telephone numbers.

Thanks Fred. Any pics or direction to a website? Right I'll have to add "looking for a Marklin Constructor Car" to my want list.
Oh, the partner and kids will be happy. _________________ Manx, the Mobile Man |

All my info comes from"Walter's Sammler-Katalog Band4 Marklin Spielzeug 1909-1954"
Hans Willi Walter produced it . He has a website but I got mine when he was selling them on Ebay. Its a bit dated pricewise, I'm not sure if it ever went into a more recent edition. The Doll version is also very good Band5
Bands 1,2 and 3 cover trains rather than steam stuff so I've never forked out for them
