I'd take one of the tools into the best model shop you can find and compare it with the Humbrol range, see if you can find a match. I used a matt green for the early tools and laquered the whole thing after. I find matt blends better than gloss. _________________ Stephen

Mike,
I don't, and I've never used one yet.
I think my plan will be to have the steam feed on the outside of the boiler and into the engine,
Then probably use one only exhaust to the chimney, that being the direction I want the tools to run. Unless I cross bands that will be the reverse position, so the top hole of the ports.
The opposite direction exhaust I will leave open, so I can use it to run the engine initially, and clear the condensate without filling up the chimney with oily water.
I ran the engine and boiler together earlier last night, it has loads of poke in both directions, so I hope ot will run the complete setup. If not I'll need to use a bigger pulley on the shaft. Do Wilesco make bigger pulleys? Its a wilesco shaft. |

They do pulleys much bigger, for instance the D14 and D455 share a large flywheel with a stepped 'two-speed' pulley attached, the engine frame may need raising then . . . _________________

Here is where I am as of today, the boiler has had a proffessional polish, and most of the bits are in place.
Just need a spindle for the grinder and some bands. I'm fairly happy with it so far.
