William II-The Movie

Ok, not really a very good movie, not much plot, and very repetitive...

The Mamod William II is my first live steam locomotive.  It was quite stiff coming out of the box (as many have posted about Mamod locomotives) and took a bit of break-in.

I had read that it was supposed to be an improved version of the original William, which it appears to be from the comments of others who have posted about William in the past.

You will see some flame flaring out from around the side tanks.  It seems to be (to my inexperience mind) a sort of balancing act to get enough fire to maintain steam, but not so much that it turns the locomotive into a mobile bonfire.

The locomotive probably has about 10 runs on it (or a bit more), plus a couple of runs up on blocks, as of the time I made this video:

Overall, I am quite pleased with it (bear in mind that I have no previous live steam locomotive experience and so cannot compare it to anything).

Thanks RAK - ran very well I think. The track may have been a little uneven, but the loco stayed on and was much more interesting than a 'billiard table' surface! It'll surely handle more stock.

Seems to be loosening up quite well now, I have to admit to getting lost with all the different loco models brought out by Mamod in the past 5 years or so.
