Wilesco D455 ExhaustWasn't sure where to post this one. But as it's a bit of a 'technical' problem solved, I thought it may as well go here!
When I got my D455 (I think that's the correct model number), the exhaust was missing and oily steam was ejected straight from the valve chest! After failing to obtain a replacement pipe (possibly didn't try hard enough or maybe the right channels) and fed up of not being able to steam it without a horrible mess, I decided to take things into my own hands!
The original would have turned the bend, dropped down and then turned again into the condensation tray, all this with no support - no wonder the thing didn't last! My solution was straightforward, using a piece of copper pipe to take the steam straight down to a condensing vessel via a plastic tube (not shown). Terrible soldering - but it's steam-tight.
I formed a support bracket from a piece of 1/8" copper pipe hammered flat and fixed it direct to the motion casting.
It's now all set for use as a power plant for the fairground - I just need a fairground.

Nice work!
As you mentioned, the original routes the exhaust to the tray, but the tray is too small and must be emptied several times during a run.
You solution is both practical and elegant.
