Ok here at last... YouTube seems to take forever with my vids - wierd!
BE WARNED - there's a horrible sqeak in the second video, it's a lack of oil on the moving parts of the lift - appalling preparation (it was a bit rushed). By the time it was going I couldn't manage the oil can and the camera!
TURN THE SOUND DOWN OR IT MAY HIT THE PAIN THRESHOLD!!
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
Now enjoy (if you can)...
By the way, in the second clip the engine's running on just the residual pressure! The heater's very efficient and power-hungry!

Excellent work, good sounding machine. You need something in that dredger! Fascinating accessory to watch!

Nice one Steve

Yep - the more I think about it, the more I'm tending towards light oil. The trouble is that I need to step down the gearing to increase the torque and reduce the speed - a lot! The M101/Lion's a while off completion yet, but I think I'll give the E135 a go at it. Otherwise it's playing about lineshafts or with Meccano to get the right.
And it's a water lift NOT a dredger - stop winding me up!

Water lift - brilliant!

Thanks Oz - clearly you're a connoisseur of the rare and noisy. I've oiled the water lift since shooting the video!

great video there mate really like the water features must get one !

nice steady video and interesting subject.
is the water lift water tight if it is maybe water in it would provide a little resistance and therefore slow it down a bit ????

The movement is quite free, but the point about the resistance with some fluid in it is a good one. I used water the first time I tried it and it splashed all over the place, even at low speed! Drying it out thoroughly afterwards was a nuisance - hence the squeaking in the video, I forgot to oil it! I've obtained some very light and clear sewing machine oil with a view to using that. My only concern is that even a light oil may cause more of a cleaning problem then the water did with the drying issues!
Hellfire - life's complicated isn't it!

Wow, the D22, first I've seen running. Serious bit of desirable kit.
