Wanted - Bowman partsI was luckily enough to win 3 little Bowmans on ebay today, probably because everyone already has them. You've got to start a collection somewhere and judging by the prices of the larger engines I'm happy with my tidlers.
M167 requires a burner
M175 requires a burner, level plug and chimney
M180 requires a burner, level plug and safety valve
I think these will look nice next to my M158 and give me a basic little collection of Bowmans. Always open to offers if anyone has any for sale but I'm a bit spent out just now.
Any help with the parts appreciated, I've been given a couple of links on the Mamod forum for repro parts, original would be my first choice. I guess the chimney will be the tricky one.
thanks
Dave

Hey well done Dave. Sensible purchases there. Good luckwith the burners, if you get a spare - think of me - I need one for my little 158! Post some pictures when they arrive won't you.
I may be able to help with a level plug, I'll get back to you. New replica safety valves can be had from Chris Ford, details on: http://www.toytrainspares.co.uk/

M175/180 Burerns are hard to get hold of, moveover because the size is that much smaller than the common M135/58/67 burners. As Stephen says the filler plugs aren't too difficult to get hold of.

Thanks guys, no rush with the filler plug as I've not heard from the seller yet, so it will be a while before they arrive.
Not quite so good news on the burners, might have a go at making some if I can get pics and dimensions at some point.

Dave - I've had a look at the 'spare' Bowman level plugs I have and I'm not sure I can 'spare' one. If you buy a new safety valve from Chris Ford, then you may as well get a plug from him especially as he only wants £2 for one! His work is excellent by the way (almost as good as MF Steam), but you should try phoning rather than emailing (number's on his website) - by his own admission he doesn't check his emails regularly!
I bet you're excited about the pending delivery, don't forget to have the camera ready and post some pictures!

Stephen - thanks for the thought and looking in the spares box, I quite understandnot wanting to give away your last one.
I'll give him a call, I did email but I now see why I've not heard back.
Just the money off for the Bowmans so should have them early next week. I can see I'll be in the market for another once I have these. Might have a sort of surplus Mamods this weekend and raise a bit of cash.

Ah - got the Bowman bug eh?
If you're clearing out some Mamods, I'm interested in any old flatbases or those funny little ones with two cylinders on the top, think they call 'em 'twins' or something. Oh and as long as they're cheap!

Wot - no Minor twin? Oh well never mind.
All joking apart Dave, I reckon the SE2's the best of that range - good one!
