The Mamod SE2 of c1957

Here we have my completed and refurbed SE2 from 1957. Very much an engine in 'change' as outlined in my other thread. Im very pleased with this engine as it fills an important gap in my collection. I have a colour box for this engine too stored away to complete the package.

This engine will be left for several months now for the paint to harden sufficiently, it should steam OK. Hope you like the images, these could be the next big thing in Mamod collecting, grab them while the prices are still 'reasonable'.

THANK YOU JOHN.

You can inspect it more closely at Exeter in October.

That's great Mike. And I think you could be right about the SE range becoming more and more collectable. Very Happy

Early raised bases Chris, flatbase engine seem to attracting some ludicrous bids if the last 12-months is anything to go by. Just my hunch... Wink

Vry nice job Mike, i hope the one i just purchased of ebay looks as good as that when i,ve had chance to work on it. Where do you get the paints from for restoration jobs like this? Im going to use PJ1 gloss black for the boiler housing (correct me if im using wrong terminology im new to this) its heat proof upto 400 degrees plus. Ive used it on motorcycle exhausts without a problem.
