Wart thats a nice example. Burner is an easy soldering job. Price with box and polisher is fine, SE3s seem to vary greatly in price, maybe because so many are around. That said its a fine engine and a design which should be in every Mamod collector's stable of engines. Id date this one from the late 1960s, possibly into 1971/2. The leaflet would help me date it better, however by the looks of it it has the hammered green effect paint which is bang on for this era. Look forward to more images and a steaming!

A very handsome engine you've got there Wilbur.
I paid around £60 for mine (without the box & accessory) around two years ago.
They appear on OFAS quite frequently and for what they are, how they look and what they'll do, I think the SE3's are terrific!

picked up my SE3 from the post office today well chuffed with it, dont think its seen much use as base and firebox paint are both near perfect. boiler still has most of its original laquer which i will leave. also are some pics of drive band packet and fold out catalog. could anyone give me a rough idea of age?

Looking nice indeed, something about an earlier well kept SE3 thats pretty unbeatable. Id say that one was sometime between 67-72. Beautiful!

Very, very nice example you've got there Willbur. Excellent condition and the burner's a star in it's own right! Get it working some 'pukka' kit and see how long it runs for.
Mine's a similar vintage and here's a photo with it's workshop...
The firebox is due a repaint and the boiler will be cleaned up at the same time - sometime! Goes well in the meantime 'though.
Enjoy yours!
