SE1

The Mamod SE1 I mentioned when I introduced myself earlier is now stripped and partially painted. The Boiler band will again be painted with heat resistant black paint as it was in a sorry state once cleaned down, not authentic, but an improvement I hope.
I am now going to look for some small brass (if poss) fastenings for the flywheel housing and something for securing the boiler band with also.

The Bowman burner that was in the photo has now gone to a more appreciative collector and I shall pair this engine with something more in keeping from forrest I think.

I shall post a picture of the finished offering when complete  Shocked

Best Regards, Jon.

Looking good JJ  Very Happy

Sourced some M3 brass sets (Domed slots) with nuts today. They are a clearance fit on the base but a little "snug" on the flywheel and cylinder frame. They need cutting down as well.

Hopefully all will be well.
JJ

Well, I'm happy with it for a first attempt.

Thankyou  Shocked  Very Happy

The base is actually BMW "bright red". The burner is from Forest Classics, to whom I would like to say thanks for a quality, speedy service.

I have a small tin of Gloss Red Humbrol for the chimney and yes it will be steamed.
