Post War Mamod SE1I bought this nice little postwar SE1 on e-bay recently and it just landed
Its pretty good and complete bar the burner, also the firebox is a little bent but I'll sort that no bother.
Can anyone supply some pics and dims of an accurate burner?
Or would one of Ian's (MFSteam) pre war burners do if I fitted a plug?
many thanks in advance

A one wick burner will do the job, however a two-wicker would be better. Ill get the dimentions off my MM2 flatbase when I get home. A very nice little engine indeed.

Superb Engine
I'm sure a MF burner would fit like a glove
Not sure if they were 1 or 2 wicks originally, similar to the bottom left 2 burners in the pic

That will scrub up nicely, a two wicker is needed for this model.

I've just made a 2 wick burner for this model, chopped from a later SE1 or 2, 3wick job I found by itself in a junk shop. The tank is the type with a ridge a hex plug and was light green though very very rusty.
What colour should the burner be for this engine?, I have a can of ford highland green somewhere, or I also have some nice satin plasticote barbeque paint.
My current thinking is to go black so as not to detract from an otherwise very original engine. I do not intend to polish or paint anything else unless forced to.

Id go for the black, the Ford green is close, but probably will not match the engine frame exactly.

That's a beauty, 8-10. A burner and a pulley and you're all set!
