Our collections

Seeing as the last post in this board was some time ago, I hope this will allow some much needed attention!

I am in the middle of clearing up my bedroom, and I thought it best to catalogue everything valuable. I started with my model railway loco stock:

I have fifteen steam locos, one of which (a Hornby A4, renumbered by TMC to 60019 'Bittern') is fitted with a South West Digital sound decoder.

Only three others are fitted with decoders at present, but the diesel side is a different matter:

Seventeen diesel locos, fourteen of which have decoders and two have sound decoders.

Mike said in another topic that he is sticking to manual, but for me DCC is the way forward as I think that in a few years time every loco available will have a DCC socket or be DCC fitted as standard. Hence why most of my stock have decoders. And to tempt some, I might video my sound A4 running...

My layout is packed away at the moment, but my current stable of engines includes:

King George V, King James II, Prairie 4141, 1400 tank, 4 Westerns, 42 class Warship 'Cambrian', Hymek, 08 shunter, 4472, 1600 pannier, 50 class DE. Very much a GWR/Western Region mix. And as Simon said it very 'manaul' in operation . . .  Laughing

Mike, I should have said DC really Rolling Eyes

Are any of your Western's made by Heljan per chance? My one (D1015 'Western Champion' in golden ochre) is shorting somewhere, I think I know what it is though...

No Id like the Golden Ochre Western!

I have 3 Limas and one Hornby.
My 42 is Bachmann and is a centre mounted weighted motor with twin powered bogies, although it will not negotiate 3rd radius curves.

Most of my stuff is Hornby or Lima

I cant bring much to the party i am afraid. I own Seagull renumbered and renamed Mallard as it was not available at the time and a class 58 as I watched them being built at Doncaster in 83. It would seem the class is now being scrapped Crying or Very sad , some made it to Europe a few are in store based at Eastleigh. A far cry from the merry go round coal trains of the North they were intended for.

If I wasn't into OO gauge Im sure I would have a garden railway instead! However I like the idea of being able to sit comfortably in my bottom study and just watch the trains!

Ian, I didn't know the 58's were being scrapped Shocked They were far from eye pleasing, but as long as they served a purpose...

I like those rolling roads! An A4 would be a rather nice visitor to my layout.

Here's 4141 on the 'home trainer'

What happened to the drop of smoke oil down the chimney. I used to love that.
