Eastleighs not too far from me at all!! Infact I think Jays Very close! Lord Nelson was recently rebuilt there and they have done a 10 1/4 inch version of Ln at the line round the corner of the works

I'm certainly going that weekend, I'd like some more info though such as opening times and entrance fees.
I know most of the locos that are going, and what date it is but that is about it!

Si, nearly all you need to know is here
http://www.eastleigh100.com/
I think ticket price is going to be £12
Lots of locos are unconfirmed and or requested.

Thanks for that, Ian.
I hadn't seen any website details in the Steam Railway magazine, and Google searches had proved fruitless.

Just bought my ticket for the Saturday, given the presence of a certain rebuilt Bulleid Merchant Navy...

You'll also probably get to see the 4th new steam loco that Boston Lodge has built/is being built in preservation. Tornado is far from unique.

Clan, Ian One of the best railtours I have been on was hauled by her. That was a few years ago now, though!
I won't be going on the train. Cheaper for me to go from Barnham to Eastleigh rather than all the way up to Waterloo. Plus I don't like venturing into London alone!

It would be cheaper for me not to go via London by quite some considerable margin as well. But its the lurer of a Bulleid down the fast line to Eastliegh that wins over a Desiro.

I'm not so die hard as you, Ian!
Hopefully Clan Line will be 'released' to non-VSOE trains soon...

Unfortunately their website indicates that non VSOE tours will be strictly limited. Something about guaranteed income to best secure the locos future. I suppose it is sensible if somewhat annoying. She only did one extra tour last year and this looks to be this years one.

Right, I'm getting all geared up for this now!
I've bought a new set of rechargeable batteries to try those out, as my current set seem to run out very quickly with my camera.
I've bought my train tickets to get to Eastleigh, so I'm all set

I've just got in from this event, plenty of pics to show and I'll write a report to accompany it. I'm knackered but happy I went.

Here's something to wet your appetite:
I have about three hundred images to sift through, so I expect it will be late this evening that I'll post my pics.

Right, I've added the last of the pics (more than I expected, 35 of them!) and all of the captions are in. Not every pic is captioned, as I find it tends to bore the viewer/reader if you repeat them or have one on every single pic.
Fotopic puts the pics in chronological order, so you will have to ferret out the new ones I'm afraid.

WESTERNS, PEAKS, HOOVERS! Love it. The M7 looks particularly nice. Cromptons look better in green to me!

Here we go, a pictorial record of the day
Clan Line simmering at Waterloo just about to start its record breaking run to Worting Junction. It was the fastest Steam Hauled Train to Worting since 1964, we beat the times set down for the ACE and The Atlantic Coast Express. A great run considering the 75mph maximum and the start from platform 19 at Waterloo

Great pics, Ian.
Turns out Clan Line was at Eastleigh for the Sunday and the Monday. Oh well!
Did you see Oliver Cromwell pass? I only caught a glimpse of her whisping past to Poole.

Excellent photos Simon and Ian, thanks for sharing them.
I must be geeting old! I can remenber going to an Eastleigh works open day when I was still at school. Not a diesel in sight, T9s being cut up and a cracking run back to Waterloo behind King Arthur "Sir Cador of Cornwall". Those were the days - exits stage left in a cloud of nostalgia
