Not Steam, but it is an EngineHere is the first complete engineering project I completed. It is a 1cc Diesel engine or more correctly a Compression Ignition engine. It is much simpler in design to a diesel engine in a car and the fuel is a mixture of ether, paraffin and castor oil. The engine was designed in the late forties early fifties and was featured in Model Maker magazine. It was deigned to be made from castings or solid, this is what i made mine from. The engine was for use in rail racing cars, the forerunner of Scalextric. The cars had two guides underneath that locked oto a rail that formed the circuit. Think of the way a roller coaster locks onto its track and you are nearly there. Any way her a re a couple of pics, sorry about the dust.
