My Latest Engines!

I picked these up at the MSRVS show a few weeks ago from a freind of mine for £15 a peice.

LBSC/M.E Steam Crane in need of a new jib. It has a huge amount of power due to the gearing down.

A Wells School Traction Engine. This has Mamod rear wheels and Meccano gear drive. This also runs realy well!

The burner, since taking the photo I have found the original handle aswell Smile

And finally, an overtype engine. I have tried running this on steam and the vent on the meths burner caught fire, it does run well on air however.

Thanks! It was the little features like the crankshaft, the huge flywheel and the rivets that drew me towards that engine...and the price of course Laughing

Nice engines Jim, also you're a very lucky fella to have access to all that storage and tooling.

Thanks Mike, I am not so sure about the burner, it gives out a lot of heat but the vent also catches fire! Laughing

Thanks John, I have to thank my grandparents for allowing me to take over the workshop, without them I wouldn't be able to do all this Very Happy

Just had another look at the pictures.

The traction engine has transmission very like the Wilesco mobiles. Can you engage/disengage the drive? The brass burner looks like an early Mamod vap burner, what's the handle like?

Got any videos yet Jim?

The drive cannot be disengaged, it uses Meccano gears for the drive Smile  The burner is an early Mamod vap burner and has the same handle as the one on my MM2 Smile

No videos yet Crying or Very sad
