My babyBefore you get any ideas, NO I have not become another victim of teenage pregnancy.
I thought however that you might be interested to hear that I've purchased a 5in gauge Don Young design Steam Quarry Hunslet, 'Attila' the Hun(slet) to be precise, (google it, took me a while to get the joke). I have only been able to get this because it was priced to suit my bank balance on the condition that I do not resell it and that it is run, loved & cherished. But why would I ever want to sell it?
Worth spending 12 hours in the car this weekend? I think so, more photos to come in the very near future.
P.S. Sorry I haven't been on much, have had a busy summer playing trains, and now I have this, so really need to plan my time between getting Attila in to service and doing my college work in an efficient manner, basically, I need to stop getting distracted and plan ahead.

This is small compared to the stuff I was playing with all summer !
The boiler passed the hydraulic test on Saturday, so on Sunday my dad and I decided to steam it up, check for any leaks and set the safety valves. All went well, we had it ticking over and it did so quite sweetly, I now eagerly look forward to a fortnight's time when hopefully the steam test can be passed and 'Attila' is taken to Bethesda for some trials on the Joys of Life Railway which will essentially be its 'home' line!

Last Sunday I tested it on steam for leaks around the valves with the cladding back on, and did a taster(pun intended, you'll see why) video.

Then today the today the steam test was passed, and I drove my very own miniature loco for the first time! Didn't take my tripod and wasn't really in the mood for videoing, but I got some quite nice photos.
My dad & Attila pass some Cows
It deserves the bucket as in two senses it is a Penrhyn loco
Money well spent.
This Sweet Pea livea a mile down the road from us!

You are describing the whistle on the A1 Tornado perfectly no wonder they put a chime whistle on it too.
