meccano traction engine

would like some advice on this as i know next to nothing about meccano values.i have been offered a traction engine built from meccano and powered by a clockwork motor, like a shop window display item.it is made out of the blue and gold meccano, the blue plates having a gold hatched pattern on them and think it is late twenties.it is about 14" long and in good condition with the meccano sign on the side of its showmans roof.i could get it for £80,does this sound o.k?

If it is, £80 sounds good.

A recent shop display car chassis with working diff/gears and steering went for over £800 a few months ago.

Hi TRIPLET
I would say try to get it cheaper, unless it is somthing really special
there was a Meccano van on eBay a while ago and it went quite cheap,

there is also a Meccano lorry on eBay at the moment,
I would guess it wont fetch much more than £20
You could always buy some old Meccano and build your own.... Very Happy

The engine could be a M180 - alway get them mixed up. One of the last Bowman engines manufactured.
