decided to try and get the sw1 going today
as it was too wet for an outside run i did it indoors on a compressor
the small drive band was US so i improvised and made one from some dental floss, by doubling it over it worked okay
however i felt it ran better in reverse than in forward

Now that's odd, my SW1 (similar vintage) runs better backwards too! I've not had time to look into it further but I thought it must be something to do with the lining-up of the steam ports. Any thoughts yourself Jay?

My very first mobile an SR1a has alway gone better in reverse from day one...
