Luton Bowamn SnipeBench tested my Luton Snipe this morning, I don't think it had been steamed for years. The safety valve washer needed replacing with a new O ring and I am delighted to report that she runs a treat. I am a very happy chappie
She could do with the fibre washers replacing, so they are on my shopping list for STIA.

Thats a really good photo John, I like how you captured the smoke exhausting from the bow

Looks a treat John.
The fibre washers on Lutons seem to disintegrate after a while. I found a nice O ring replaced the SV rubbers very well.

Very Nice, I should have bought that.
A word of warning, my Sea Jay gets very hot on the underside on the hull when it is run out of water. I was very surprised how hot it got, enough to burn the paint if I had left it much longer!

That's very true Ian, it did get surprisingly hot on the underside considering it was only a short run.

You horrible pair!! You don't deserve classic boats. Bow indeed!!!!
Words fail me. The bow is the pointy end. Write it out 500 times before Prep or I'll have you keelhauled.
The flat bit with the steam coming out is the stern as in
"She's got a nice stern"

A stern telling off there . . . .

To recall a tale of my late Father's when he was on a troop ship during the war. A sergeant- major shouting "Right you 'orrible lot, get fell in facing the sharp end!"

Not entirely on topic, but in a college where I used to work I used to hang around in the motor vehicle workshop in my breaks - GREAT place to pick up car maintenance tips - and I can remember the instructor shouting at a student who'd just sheared off an engine head bolt: "Ferchrissakes! It's LEFTY LOOSY and RIGHTY TIGHTY!!!"
Heard once, never forgotten!!
