large old steam plant

have just got this large very heavy plant, swapped it for the stuart turner 10V shown in pic so as size of plant can be gauged.it is a fire tube coal fired boiler and vertical engine which also drives a boiler feed pump.very dirty and oily but the stuart stood me at £94 so think i have done o.k.dont know whether to restore it,leave as is or sell it as yet.opinions please.

Although not my area, sympathetic cleaning and degreasing would be my advice. I think MF calls it symapathetic conservation. Hopefully it will steam.

Wow, that's big. Is it a model, or a full-size plant? Either way, I'd say you made a good trade.

Interesting that it has a pressure gauge in BAR not PSI.

That wood will come up nicely, looks quite an old design but I cant shed any further light on a manufacturer Sad
