I like Hornby a lot - Bachmann is a real step up - esp thier locos . . .
What about Heljan?

Hornby - good all round established name
Bachmann - superb quality engines - fantastic motors
Dapol - lightweight rubbish (IMHO)
Graham Farish - the best N-gauge stuff available
Peco - brilliant quality track, love their points, double slips etc.

Bearing in mind that Bachmann owns the Graham Farish name, so theoretically Graham Farish should come under Bachmann in the poll On the subject of Bachmann and GF:
On Tuesday night at my MRC I was running my 04 and my friend who takes me had bought a Graham Farish N gauge 04. We put them side by side and they were exactly the same in terms of detail. Although the N gauge one has wasp stripes fore and aft, mine is just plain green. Will try and get a photo next time

You'll need to get the Macro setting for N-gauge MTA!

Hopefully I can find my camera guidebook! I'm sure it has a macro setting

Dapol's the best for N gauge, I mistoke their 66's for a bachmann one once! The only problem with Hornby is the chassis, the detailing is superb on both Hornby & Bachmann, but the Bachmann will always give a smoother ride, even on DCC.
