Interesting boat

I know about the ebay bullshit, however this beastie is very interesting

Presumably its something pretty special judging by the price.

Seeing that is has what looks like a Mersey burner was there some sort of tie up with the two firms?

That is a rather rare piece of kit and in very good condition.  The steam parts are indeed by Mersey Models and it is believed that Star Yachts made the hulls for Mersey's steam boats  I would love it but it is way beyond my pocket.  I think the big guns will come out for this one!

Bit more info on Strar Yachts here - http://www.vmyg.org.uk/pages/resources/small_boat/star.htm

You wouldn't have got it at that price, I was prepared to go a lot higher. The trouble is that my personal rule of thumb says that the final price is around 3 times the first "settle" which comes out at around 2k!!!!!

We shall see.

No Sandy, just a website I use that tells you how many watches a item has on it
I've more chance of wining a steam item that has only 4 or 5 watches than something like this
That has 53 watches on it

£1200.  Well it was a little more than I was prepared to pay. I wonder what the winner would have gone up to if necessary? I suppose its a better investment than an Icelandic bank account. Very Happy
