Which Miss America do you have? The early very small boilered one, the later shielded boiler, or the very late Snipe engine one?

A very fine looking vessel.

Looks to be an early one, should have a round or rectangular burner. Fred Crammond is your man for this as I believe he has examples of this fine boat.

Its got a round burner , which sits snugly in a hole on the boat floor.

Sounds about right, the hole it sits in is often very burnt, yet another example of GBJ strange thinking

Cheers Mike, but i have to say its been restored, albeit very well. Had it sparked up tonight and it goes like billy-o.
i will give it a sail next calm day.!! Easy as I live beside the watter.!!

That is a stunning boat Sandy, it's absolutely gorgeous.
In case you are interested here is a scan of an original advert for Miss America. I think it's from Meccano Magazine circa 1926.

That's a fine looking boat, an excellent resto job too.
