OFAS is a great source of kit and amusement! There are bargains to be had,it's just a bit depressing when the ones you really want go way above your ceiling!

Very nice looking engine Sandy - the King of British steam I think!

I finally got this E101 steamed today, it is so unworn and powerfull i cannot get over in words....Video will come soon .  Absolutely fabulous, and performs so much "better" somehow than my 2 M101's...Not exactly sure why this should be though.??

They are all different like people, no two are the same. My M101 runs sweet and quick, the E101 takes an eternity to get into steam but once going never stops.... Its what makes theses engines so bl**dy addictive. Very Happy

Yeah Mike, i think that the bowman 101's are a cut above any other engine, something about the "size" of the components,  simplicity but with nice touches like regulators, 2 speed pulleys, oilers etc.
I know much has been said about the current cost of these goliaths but i still maintain they offer superb value for money, and good examples are better than cash under the mattress!!

cheers Sandy

Yes dont mention the prices! The current collecting passion for these engines has pushed the cost of these for a good one into the 200+ bracket.
