EagleA recent buy.
A Bowman Eagle looking a little tired.
On closer inspection, all it needed was a few repairs and a more apropriate paint scheme.
Some of the parts after clean up repair and dent removal.
The rest being painted. The large plate on the left is not origional, I have made it to protect the damaged area of the heat shield for the fire box.
It also doubles up as the burner holder as the origional wire clip is missing.
I should also add that it can easily be removed with no damage to the boat.
The final result.
Final shot with Swallow for size comparison.
I am very happy with the result

Fantastic looking machine, the thing that strikes me about these early Hobbies/Bowmans is the simplicity of the construction.

Thanks for the positive comments guys.
This one was fairly easy and quick to do as the boat was in good condition to start with.

What colour and brand of paint did you use Phantom, as the finish is really good

I used wilko antique white enamel and plasticote enamel for the green, I think its called hunter green, its a bit daker than the origional green.
The paint was allowed to harden for a week then given three coats of clear.
A small tip is too let the enamel harden before applying the clear otherwise the paint will wrinkle very badly.

Sorry - bit late picking this one up!
Lovely job there Phantom. It's so damned satisfying when a restoration works so well.
