CarriagesI'm not one for coaching stock but these Maunsell carriages with a Maunsell U boat in charge on the Bluebell look great.

I'll second that, a superbly restored train.

Funnily enough I was just about to post that link.
Maunsell has to be my favourite CME of the Southern, as his engines were excellent as were the coaches he designed too.

Don't get me wrong, I do like the West Country's/BoB's etc. but I prefer the work of Maunsell more

I rather like the S15's and the Schools, fabulous looking engines. I missed Repton down at the Mid Hants and Stowe needs a new firebox inner.
Bulleid had a big hand in the A4's he was at one point Gresley's right hand made until he left for the Southern to build Mixed Traffic engines during the war. I wonder how he got away with calling a fully streamline pacific with innovative ideas a mixed traffic loco? You dont see many pictures of Merchants on milk trains do you.

Or Kings . . . like the A4s and Merchants they never were taken off their main duties in top liink passenger services.
