c1975 Mamod Minor 1 workshop No.2This little configuration came about because I wanted to use my Minor from the 1970s in one of my favourite Meccano based workshops. I managed to get 4 x 12" Meccano angle girders in 1950s/60s green for 99p, the lineshaft was a very nice late 1950s early 1960s one I had kicking around ( I used the flywheel for my SE2 54 workshop), so suitably kited out with Meccano pulleys and sprockets its makes a fine addition to this set up. The tools are c1960s/1970s and were picked up for £12 recently... so all in all it makes a very nice little workshop to compliment my 6 other Meccano based steam driven toy workshops, will run this set up when I return from York.
A few images...
Enjoy!
Mixture of PTOs...
A very nice late 1950s/early 1960s large rectangular decal...
The post 75 Minors had overflow plugs...
An attractive little set up for Minor fans...

That's a great setup Mike!..that Minor brings back memories though.
In 1970 or 71 my Dad brought me one from Britain where he worked(it was the one with the little burner with the round tank)..after a few months I found that if I held a match under the cylinder it gave a sort of super-heating effect for a few seconds or until my fingers burnt.
One day I found his lighter which gave a huge increase in performance until the cylinder flew off.......

This one caught be by surprise!
Its a bit like putting water on a oil pan fire I suppose! The hot water from the SV kicked it all off!

I managed to get in a quick run of this little ensemble today, it only ran for about 8 minutes, which was good fun none the less. Here a few better tripod mounted images. A video will be uploaded shortly. Enjoy.
