Butcher HelpCan I ask for some help please. I'm not going to make it to STIA this year. 2 years ago these wonderful models were on display and Mike Jane took these pics.
I've spent 2 years looking and re-looking at these 2 pics. These are the best examples of Butcher mobiles I think any of us have seen.
Last year the owner of the engines was at STIA but brought a "different" part of his collection and so I was unable to get anymore pics.
Fred did very kindly pass on a letter from me to the owner of the engines (2 years ago) but he didn't reply.
I own 2 of these lovely little models and would love to know more about the Butcher name.
So, my request..... Can anyone and everyone take as many pics as you can of these engines if they are at STIA. Can you ask as many questions as you can think of. And maybe, just maybe get the fella who owns the engines to join the forums and tell us all about his collection.
As a small ps, we all call these engines Butcher, however in the 1930's a firm called Tribe and Astin made a set of models that could very well be exactly the same engines. Internet searches turn up nothing on Butcher and only a little on Tribe and Astin. Anything, anyone can find out would be great.
Thanks.

Here's my only pic of the Tribe and Astin range. I know the Steam Roller looks different but those Yorkshire Steam Wagons..... they have to be the same, don't they?
Any information would be good.

I'm so glad lots of people had a good time at STIA. I've not seen that many 'mobile' pics to add to my collection.
Did anyone see any Butcher or Tribe and Astin engines? Have I just missed them in a thread or where they not at STIA.
Thanks.

Chris, mobiles were thinnish on the ground, all I saw was the Doll and a similar one, see my STIA trhead.
