Boy Scouts Celebrate CentennialSince I started discussing steam online, I sometimes find myself pleasantly
surprised to learn of a Brittish connection or root in something I formerly
thought was founded by an American. Such was the case with the invention
of the steam engine and now again, here, with the Boy Scouts!

I was a member for a year or two. It was more about activities like camping,
tying knots, target shooting, kite flying, and identifying poison ivy etc.
We had Den Mothers leading us, so the coersion factor was very low.
Our only fear of them was that they might withhold the homemade
brownies and cookies they made for us if we didn't behave!
