Bowman Chimney

I seem to be really good at aquiring Bowman engines without chimneys    Confused

I've made a temporary replacement for my E135 from B&Q brass-effect steel tube. When I find some brass of the correct size I'll get it done properly!

My Luton PW203 is a bit more interesting. When I fired it up, the exhaust was actually drawing the flame through a square hole in the 'firebox' at the base of the chimney 'support frame' - very impressive, and it actually seemed to create more heat. It certainly steamed well! As this is my first PW203 I've nothing to compare it to, so my questions to you gurus out there are:

Does the PW203 chimney have it's base cut out to correspond with the firebox?
If so...
Is this draught from the exhaust steam intentional?

(I should point out that the Luton doesn't have its original burner, I was using a small meths vapouriser.)

I must check that Stephen, there is a cut out to allow for the exhaust pipe protruding into the base of the chimney stack.

What size is the brass tube you require ?

Good question - could someone with a 135 and/or a PW203 take some measurements please? It'd be great to get it right!

Stephen
PW203 dimentions: 152mm tall, diameter of 24mm, flared end 30mm diameter. Cut out in base to accommodate exhaust pipe insert is 15mm tall by 4mm wide.

The 135 chimney is 127mm long, 24.75mm  o/diameter & 23.60mm i/d.
There's a 6.32mm hole for the exhaust, 38mm up from the bottom to the centre of the hole

Thanks guys - I knew I could rely on you!

Avenger - can you help with any of this?

Cheers.

Many thanks to Avenger for making a couple of pieces of tube available to me. I've now got the bits to do a 'proper job'!
