I meant to do this Mike...

M158:   170w x 160d x 110h mm

Front and back ply is 10mm thick, side ply 3.5mm thick

I just happen to have this one to hand.
Spokesmann

An M167 will fit that one too.

For the Es add the depth of the base to height.
MFSteam

are you sure it is ply, my 122 is very thin sawn wood.

You may be right MF, I can see some 'banding' in mine. It could be the light and that Im tired!! Laughing

The wood has a lovely rough look though.

Good stuff, keep em rolling in  Very Happy
I want to make a full cutting list, before i start making large quantities of mug coasters Laughing
I'm sure it's thin timber & not ply on the ones i've seen close up Confused

The radial blade marks indicate the it was cut on a large circular saw & not a bandsaw as iwould have expected. To start with i'm going to make plywood boxes, as they will not split.
Spokesmann

You're right MF! Laughing

Make em right and you'll only make em once

If i can get hold of some 80yr old floor joists that are fairly knot free, i'll make them from timber. I'd prefer as close to the originals as possible Very Happy
MFSteam

good plan but you need a knot or two so you can poke them out and have them rattling in the bottom of the box.
Make sure you dont make lids, Bowman boxes dont have lids Laughing
Spokesmann

Bowman lids always fall off, once the wire holding it to the box snaps/rusts!! Laughing

I've found thin string makes a good replacement and looks sort of period as well  Smile
