I found this little boat engine on Chesterfield flee market today
The dealer had it priced up at £10, I normaly have a haggle with the dealers
But has this was priced quite low I just paid the asking price
I dont think the boiler is in too good a shape, I just wanted the little engine
It looks like a little Stuart engine, but probably isnt
I'll give it a clean up and repost some more pics over the weekend

I dont think I posses the skills Mike, or the tools, I may have a go though

Very nice engine at a very nice price.

You should have haggled a bit Mike - the poor guy now probably believes he should've asked more.

I've now removed the Stuart from the boiler, and brushed on some de-greaser
I'm going to cleen the steel parts up a little and blue the cylinder cover
And thats about it for this one

Looking better already, the engine body needs a a nice deep green enamel...

Done a little more cleaning of my Stuart this afternoon
Everything is now oiled and has had a light clean
The engine is really smooth when turned over
I'll conect it to a Mamod boiler shortly and do a video
Excellent work Jim. Im not into Stuart stuff, but there's no denying their kit is top notch, the Iver locos look particularly nice.

I am pretty sure the boiler is the original for this engine Stuart used to make this as a steam plant I think I shall look through my catalouges and see what I can find
I've just picked up 1940/41 Stuart catalogue, there is some interesting stuff in there including the BB but I also found this
Looks like it is a complete engine and boiler set up.

I said it was the original boiler
Can you scan in the bit about the Stuart BB engine Ian? Would like to see it now I have a BB

That looks like a perfect match MF
I'm quite suprised the boiler housing and burner are by Stuart as they are flimmsey and poorly made
I sold the boiler on ebay for £16 last week just waiting for the cheque to clear
Nick
Mike, I thought you might like to see one running with the original boiler.
After I had seen yours, I just had to get one!
Mamod Collector
Ohhhh now thats nice, thats a beautiful engine and a super runner
Your one lucky boy Nick I,m gona watch the video again now
