Anyone want this?Had a bit of a clearout today and found this,in a bag, at the bottom of the bits box...
It's the original base off my Bowman E135.
Quite frankly, it's horrible. It's burned away below the firebox and seems as if it's been soaked in oil. It's filthy. It has got the remains of the Bowman logo however.
Still, it was useful as a template for the replacement, and I suppose it could be repaired and reused. The charred hole could be repaired with a two-part woodfiller and sanding-down would probably render the wood repaintable.
If anyone wants it let me know and it's their's for the cost of the postage.

Ah - sorry Mike, Jim snapped it up just before your return.

(The ancient Egyptians had a bit of a thing about the after life didn't they? - and this base is kinda mummified (pickled in oil) as well as having suffered a failed attempt at cremation.)
