Abels Shipyard and the PS Medway QueenMy grandad volunteers at the SS Great Britain which is just next to Abels Shipyard. Anyway, they have been granted the contract to rebuild the PS Medway Queen. He got talking to the owner and I was invited down to have a look around.
The hull has not arrived yet but they have a lot of the engine there so I took some pictures of that. I shall be going down again in a few weeks so shall update then
Overall
The Cylinder Block. It has a slide valve on the LP cylinder and a piston valve on the HP cylinder.
Reversing Levers
Cylinder end cap with a brick for size comparasion.
I think this is the air pump for the condensor.

The condensor and some bulkheads being riveted was also there inside the works but I forgot to take pictures.

Is this near the SS Great Britain Jim? I remember seeing her in the 90s when I regularly visit a friend in Clifton, Bristol.

Yup, it is in the next shipyard along. Stood at the front end of the dockyard it was about 15 foot away from the front end of the Great Western Dockyard where the Great Britain is.
In the some of the pictures you can see a union flag, that is in the Great Western Dockyard
