A tribute to Dai

I've been looking for film footage of Barry Scrap Yard on You  Tube today, just thought this was outstanding

It might not be every bodies taste in music but the marriage of sound track and pics is great.

Where would the Steam Preservation Movement be without Dai. Imagine the preserved lines minus 213 steam locomotives

Very good indeed, tragedy to see some there, the 9F was probably less than 15 years old . . .

(The Snow Patrol track works OK . . .)

I have Roger Hardingham's book on the scrapyard, and an awful lot of those colour pics in that slideshow certainly seem familiar Rolling Eyes

Its worse than that Shocked  Shocked

Just done a search for 9F 92214 that is pictured, it was only six  years old when it was withdrawn. Its now running at the East Lancs Railway.

He does credit the book to be fair

i saw this video a while ago, and have it in my favourites.
