Great Mike I have a couple of variations I can add to that. Must get some pics! Could never fathom out the reason for the larger SE3 type burner?

SR1 one piece scuttle/burner. Burner is the very early brass type without soldering - more of a folded/formed brass pan . . .

A different reservoir design on this 48 SE2 3- type.
Still works today.

A interesting base plate too - seems they couldn't make their mind up, or more probably decided to use up old stock base plates originally produced for the wick burners

Would you be able to give me some dimensions of that burner please? The one for my ME1 is predictably missing.
I tried an SE3 burner and the engine decided it wanted to take off so I think it was a little large for it and I don't want to damage the boiler.
Thanks.

Here's a picture as you can see the current burner is almost as long as the boiler.
It does run well though.

It is a Forest Classic's reproduction SE3 burner. I thought it would be about the right size but turned out a little bit longer than I thought.
