Well they have finally arrived
Although I must say I'm disgusted with the seller, as some of you know I purchased four of the steam engines from the same person
As the total cost of the engines came to £270 I asked the seller if he would combine the postage of all four engines, I also asked for them to be sent by Special delivery
Which is a guaranteed next day service and I also asked for insurance to cover the cost of the engines, so the seller agreed and went off for a quote
He emailed me back latter and said the total cost for the special delivery with £500 worth of insurance came to £31, I quickly paid and then eagerly awaited there arrival the next day
And the next day, And the next day, And the next day, and the next day, anyway when they finally arrived today, I was shocked to see the seller hadn't sent them by special delivery he hadn't got them insured
He hadn't even sent them recorded delivery, he had sent them standard parcels, with a postage cost of £8.22, and he charged me £31 that's a over charge of £23
If that wasn't bad enough to save himself even more money he had flat packed the Crescent box to fit it in with the other engines
I have emailed the seller and asked him to rectify the overcharge, if he does I'll let you all know
All images have been optimized for download
Well the first one to be unpacked was the Garette with its original cardboard box
Although the box is quite tatty, still its nice to get the engine with the burner and chimmney still present
The next one was the Bing, I dont know the model numbers of these engines
So if anyone can help identify them that would be a real help
Next one is the Crescent # 1, again its complete with tatty box and burner
The last pic shows my two varietys of this engine
Next one is my SE1 with beautiful box, I wiped it over with a rag has it was well oiled
And last but not least is my big Doll
I was suprised at the size of this one its a big lump
I've put the Doll next to the roller for a size comparison shot
I'm hopeing o fire them all over the next week so will video them
Thats all folks, hope you enjoyed the pics _________________ Mike

All very, very nice indeed. The SE1 is crisp as is the lovely early colour box, Id say that one is from early '65, interesting it still has a '57 box with a wick lamped version on it... The last Doll is rather special, reminds me of the Careast. The Bing has a wonderful clean base Mike - I like! Not so keen on the Crescents I have to say. Well done! _________________

If those engine had been lost in the mail, all you would have got as compo is £31 Mike. That seller needs to come clean, and quick. Id report this matter to ebay - Id certainly consider negative or neutral feedback too. _________________

I bought two small items from a seller in Germany last week in seperate auctions, the postage was eight euro on each item. The seller emailed me saying he would send both together and refund me half the postage. The package duly arrived with the items and a sealed plastic bag containing.....eight euro!!

Beauties all of them, really nice additions.
The seller took money for an offered service that wasn't provided. Negative feedback AND reported I think. _________________ Regards, Jon.

Thx for your comments guys
Ive not heard from the seller yet regarding a over charge refund I'll give him a few days to reply
I'll also try and contact ebay but do they really care ?
I think your right about the neutral or negative feedback
As Mike said if the engines had got lost in the post I would have had no insurence
I cant believe how stupid this seller is, charging for Special delivery then sending by standard parcels _________________ Mike
