I have an SE2 with the brass whistle. Well they call it a whistle but mine don't it just hisses. Should it give a distinct whistle or are they all like that. I have cleaned it out by running a small drill bit from the boiler end just using my fingers but it makes no difference. The red paint work could do with renewing, what paint should I use? It's a very dark red BTW. _________________ Les |

So what paint would I need to use inside the funnel then? I would assume high temp paint of some sort. _________________ Les |

Ordinary enamel (Humbrol) - it's worked well for me!
My whistles mostly 'whistle'! Are you over filling the boiler Les? They tend to sound better the drier the steam. _________________ Stephen
